Nordic Zebrafish Network meeting 2025
We just had a fantastic 2 day conference with the very inspiring key note speakers Zoltan M. Varga, Nikki Osborne, Livia D'Angelo and Julien Rességuier and a lot of other brilliant talks. In this network we aim at bridging husbandry and science and increase the cross talk. Thanks to Lars Bräutigam and Cesilie Røtnes Amundsen for organizing!

Louise von Gersdorff Jørgensen and Sara Vebæk Gelskov, board members of the network both participated in the conference kick-off on 12 November 2025 with an open house at Karolinska Institute’s zebrafish core facility. The sessions and workshops began on Thursday, 13 November till Friday, 14 November.
"As in previous years, we are adopting an inclusive approach aimed at bringing together everyone involved in zebrafish research. We will highlight current research projects ongoing in the Nordic countries to foster new collaborations. Additionally, we will have specific sessions focused on enhancing veterinary care and discussing the impact of the newly updated EU directive on zebrafish facilities in the Nordic countries."
The four key note speakers were:
- Zoltan Varga, Director Zebrafish International Resource Center
- Livia D’Angelo, Veterinary Expert, University of Napoli
- Nikki Osborne, Founding Director Responsible Research
- Julien Resseguier, Group leader at University of Oslo
